Position Summary:

  • Under minimal supervision and using established procedures and policies, applies advanced skills and knowledge to identify, document, investigate, research, and resolve hardware questions and problems in a timely manner while maintaining positive relationships with users
  • Under minimal supervision and using established procedures and policies, applies advanced skills and knowledge of electronics equipment to properly analyze, install and troubleshoot printers, headsets, phones, and all network cabling from data and voice centers to end users. Working with campus sites and local departments for company moves
  • Provides technical leadership and expertise to support, improve, document, and establish team procedures and policies

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of order and inventory applications for receiving, creating, closing work tickets and trouble tickets
  • Advanced knowledge in WAN/LAN cabling installation/design practices
  • Proficient in Wireless WAN/LAN design, installation and troubleshooting
  • Perform, delegate, and monitor the ordering, configuring, installing, replacing, and troubleshooting of networked timeclock hardware
  • Perform, delegate, and monitor shop floor troubleshooting of fork truck mounted warehouse management computers
  • Perform, delegate, and monitor support of Zebra printers for warehouse management
  • Perform, delegate, and monitor support of handheld scanners for warehouse management system
  • Perform, delegate, and monitor support of shop floor troubleshooting of Motorola handheld scanners that are used with the Syclo system
  • Perform, delegate, and monitor support of scanners for new users, PC’s, or physical locations
  • Perform, delegate, and monitor support of printer and peripheral installs based on Print Smart guidelines, headset installs, moves, adds and changes, and other general work as assigned
  • Package and ship equipment to remote locations for overnight replacement
  • Assist users on the shop floor with technical issues and support
  • Be the lead on special requests & projects, and high level work order requests
  • Manage and control large infrastructure projects to ensure time lines and schedules are met
  • Work with 3rd party vendors on escalated issues; assist in managing vendor relationships
  • Work with contractors on infrastructure projects and meet timelines established; assist in managing contractor relationships
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship for team members; assist and guide training for new team members

Job Requirements:

  • 4 Year degree in an IT related field or additional years of equivalent IT work experience
  • 10+ years of IT field service and/or project management work experience; preferably in installing and supporting IT physical infrastructure
  • Experience working in the cabling (Cat 5, 6 and Fiber) field is required
  • Experience running cable (Cat 5 & 6) and fiber optics is required
  • Experience working with Network infrastructure, quoting bids and functioning as a team lead is required
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft office, Word, Excel, VISIO, Access, PowerPoint, and MS Project
  • Must be able to travel as needed per Project requirements.
  • Must have the ability to be on call 24/7/365 for after hour support
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, using the English language
