The Junior Server Administrator will:

- Patch deployment technology
• Create and manage enterprise collections (e.g., testing, exceptions, etc.) for deployments and patch cycles.
• Create, manage and test collections for patching (Windows, Linux, 3rd party) deployments.
• Install, manage and troubleshoot patch distribution points.
• Manage and support the Patching (Ivanti, SUSE Manager) console.
• Troubleshoot - new and existing patching problems.
- Evaluate current endpoint deployment configurations and practices, focusing on continual process improvement.
- Provide progress and status reports for patch deployments.
- Present change requests during the weekly Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
- Fulfill end-user and change requests for operational engineering assignments pertaining to patch deployments, security updates, and overall configuration of client endpoints.
- Create support documentation for the team and peer groups to include standard operation procedures, general technical bulletins, and troubleshoot workflows as needed.
- Review current vulnerabilities (e.g., zero-day, critical, high, medium, and low) impacting the enterprise and discuss deployment assignments.
- Maintenance and support audit process to report on compliance.
- Identify opportunities to automate operational processes across the environment.
- Works closely with other IT departments and vendors to answer technical questions or resolve issues with patching.
- Provide troubleshooting and support, including on-call rotation, after-hours support.
- Ongoing maintenance & administration of assigned systems.
- Adherence to policies, processes and procedures within your areas of responsibility.
- Assistance with execution of projects related to areas of responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Minimum 4-5 years Desktop Support or related desktop engineering work experience.
- Good knowledge of the Windows servers (2008 R2, 2012 R2, 2016, 2019).
- Understanding of WSUS, SCCM, and Windows patching processes.
- Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration
- Group Policy design and configuration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to apply these skills to identify and resolve anomalies in system functionality and performance.
- Experience working with physical and virtual servers/workstations/VMWare technologies.
- Highly reliable, organized; able to work individually and collaboratively with peers.
- Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)
- Candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer
