The Senior IT Manager – Database Services is responsible for managing IT personnel and maintaining/implementing high quality, cost-effective database solutions and support for the Company.

Primary Duties:
  • Supervises staff and provides leadership, training, mentoring, coaching, and direction
  • Plans, organizes and manages operations to ensure the stability and reliability of database services
  • Develops, maintains, monitors, supports, and optimizes key technologies to advance delivered services to best serve business requirements
  • Participates as a leader in setting near and long term technology strategies
  • Engages the business, functional, and IT leaders as required on behalf of IT
  • Develops effective solutions and leads multiple efforts to serve internal and external customers
  • Provides the leadership needed to ensure Company services are properly protected, costs are controlled, change is managed, and the Company is ready to meet compliance objectives
  • Serves as a hands-on technical manager who is able to participate as needed in support and troubleshooting.
  • Leads the teams in major projects and initiatives (company goals, disaster recovery, IT simplification, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, etc.) by managing teams and monitoring/reporting progress
  • Provides scalable, stable services to meet the Company’s business requirements, while maintaining/building a robust service delivery organization
  • Manages the contract, vendor, and financial components by collaborating with internal organizations to control costs and risks
  • Interfaces with IT and Company management to ensure effective communications on projects, major initiatives, and as a consultative resource
  • Creates, applies, and requires the gathering and reporting of key metrics
  • Duties as required and assigned

Requirements:
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years experience in a database support role with database clusters, data replication, and other advanced configurations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience managing Oracle and/or SQL Server architecture and relational database concepts
  • Experience with contract, vendor, and financial management within a dynamic, aggressive growth company
  • Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance standards
  • Knowledge of leading industry technologies with a strong knowledge around IT governance, project planning, and the technological usage/alternatives available in a multi-platform environment
Essential Skills:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and co-workers
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Colorado salary range - $20/hr to $125/hr
