The Project Coordinator provides oversight for projects as assigned. Specific area of focus will be IT Technology and Infrastructure. This individual works closely with project team and stakeholders to plan and track project activities. He/she will collaborate with 3rd party vendors where applicable. The Project Coordinator adheres to company standards for project deliverables, and monitors project timeline, budget, risk, and critical path. Position reports to PMO Manager.

Main Duties
  • Organize, lead, and provide guidance to project team
  • Facilitate project kickoff, setup project framework, touchpoints, and closure
  • Work with Business Analyst to ensure requirements are properly documented
  • Contribute to functional and technical architecture discussions with project team, SME’s, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and report overall project health, budget, timeline, risks, obstacles, and critical path. Coordinate potential downtimes and maintenance windows.
  • Monitor, manage, and communicate changes to the project’s scope, budget, schedule, and resources; follow Change Approval (CAB) procedures as required
  • Issue all project communications, including status reporting
  • Work with PMO Manager, Director of IT/Ops, InfoSec Manager, and Facilities Manager to finalize project budgets.
Civil Service Requirements
  • Any one or any combination of the following, totaling six (6) years from the categories below:
    • progressively more responsible work experience in IT-related profession
    • college course work with a concentration in Information Technology (IT), IT Management, or a closely related discipline, as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
    • 60 semester hours or Associate's Degree equals one (1) year
    • 90 semester hours equals two (2) years
    • 120 semester hours or Bachelor's Degree equals three (3) years
  • Two (2) years of total work experience in a supervisory or lead worker capacity in an IT environment.
  • Additional education, training, and/or work experience in an area of specialization inherent to the position may be required
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills
    • Knowledge of the systems and operations used within the areas and departments of responsibility
    • Ability to oversee and coordinate activities of assigned staff
    • Ability to effectively communicate with other colleagues, supervisors, administrative staff, and other campus/agency units
    • Ability to identify and resolve technical and personnel problems
    • Ability to effectively communicate and professionally interact with all staff levels
Job Specific Qualifications
  • 1+ years of relevant project experience, serving in a lead role (as a Senior BA, SME, or PM)
  • Experience with projects of a technical nature, such as IT Operations, Networking, Infrastructure, Security
  • Excellent writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with one or more Project Management tools such as MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps/Boards. Ability to rapidly learn software tools as required.
  • Ability to manage staff
  • Present professionally, be articulate and client facing
  • Available to work in Champaign, IL
  • Experience in IT-related profession, college degree with concentration in IT or related discipline
  • Exposure to project management methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile and Scrum-preferred
  • Experience with requirements documentation methodologies-preferred

Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)

Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer

Colorado salary range - $20/hr to $125/hr
