We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Software Developer for our Enterprise Output Management (EOM) group. LRS EOM has provided premier Output Management products for the mainframe for 40 years. As a Mainframe Product Developer, you will perform research, analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation tasks for the development of new and extension of existing EOM z/OS software products.
LRS Enterprise Output Management (EOM) solutions handle all aspects of document capture, delivery, storage, and accounting. Our EOM software products are designed to manage output from any platform, in any format, to any physical or electronic destination. As a member of the Mainframe Product Development staff your primary responsibilities will be working with the EOM z/OS products; however, knowledge and experience with other platforms will enhance your ability to research, analyze and design solutions for our customers.
Upon learning the LRS EOM software product infrastructure, your duties will consist of working with other Developers, Support Specialists, Quality Assurance Specialists and Systems Engineers to diagnose and resolve customer issues. This will involve recommendations for usage of existing products, fixes or enhancements to existing products, or design and development of new functionality for existing products or for new product software. Your primary coding language will be z/OS Mainframe Assembler, though you will have opportunities to also work with Cobol and C.
This position is based at LRS headquarters in Springfield, IL, is eligible for a hybrid work week, and is paid a base salary plus paid overtime.
- You must have at least 2 years experience in a z/OS mainframe development role with Assembler coding experience, or you must have completed four semesters of college-level computer science courses with an emphasis on z/OS mainframe operating systems and Assembler programming language.
- Permanent authorization to work in the USA. No visa sponsorship available.
The knowledge of and experience with any of the following will make you a stronger candidate:
- JES, JCL
- ISPF, SDSF
- CICS, IMS
- PDF, PCL, IPDS
- Cobol programming language
- C programming language
You must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent development and diagnostic skills. You must be well organized and be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritizing and addressing the most important first. You will regularly work with the Development and Support team members to discuss new projects and review open problems.
The Enterprise Output Management group develops and sells the world's most successful suite of output management software. The Product Development and Support groups are managed by the VP of Product Development. You will report directly to Manager, Product Development who reports to the VP of Product Development.
