Job Description
Fulcrum Consulting, an LRS company is seeking a Senior Financial Services Project Manager with our client in Minneapolis, MN.
Hourly rate between $20 - $125 per hour
Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful implementation of project deliverables, ensuring that the budget, scope, schedule, risk, and quality meet defined success criteria. The role ensures effective stakeholder communication and adherence to industry-standard project management methodologies, tools, and best practices throughout the project's life cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Alignment & Planning:
- Ensure project deliverables align with business objectives.
- Define, estimate, and schedule project tasks and interdependencies through a clear project plan/work breakdown structure.
- Resource Management:
- Identify project resource requirements and collaborate with the Steering Committee, Project Sponsor, Project Management Office, and Competency Center to secure skilled resources.
- Hold resources accountable for project deliverables, providing coaching and mentoring as needed.
- Project Methodology & Documentation:
- Adhere to the approved project management methodology and maintain all relevant project artifacts and records.
- Project Performance & Analysis:
- Track and measure key success metrics for the project.
- Analyze project performance, perform cost-benefit analysis, and identify optimal solutions to minimize risks and trade-offs.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Provide regular progress reports to internal and external stakeholders, outlining project status, risks, issues, and action plans.
- Escalate significant risks and issues to the Steering Committee or Project Sponsor.
- Collaboration & Coordination:
- Work closely with business partners, vendors, technology teams, and project management staff to develop and ensure consensus on project objectives and deliverables.
- Project Transition:
- Successfully transition the project into daily business operations at the end of the project.
- Strong ability to balance political, economic, social, technological, and administrative factors.
- Competency in adapting to a changing environment and managing ambiguous situations.
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on delivering results.
- Ability to work independently, especially in executive or senior roles, with minimal direction.
- Capability to satisfy the requirements of multiple customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to distill complex concepts into actionable steps.
- Solid understanding of Project Management methodologies and tools, including Capability Maturity Model integrated (CMMi) methods.
- Demonstrated experience in leading multiple complex projects from design to delivery (for executive/senior roles).
- Strong decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and navigate unexpected challenges effectively.
- BA/BS in Business, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- This role requires a proactive, results-driven individual with a solid background in project management and the ability to guide projects to successful completion while balancing multiple stakeholder needs and organizational goals.
