Job Responsibilities:

The BioMed Technician (BMET) 2, with minimal supervisions, maintains clinical equipment through the effective use of the Medical Equipment Management Plan. Performs a variety of tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration and repair of biomedical equipment. Responsible for performing preventive, predictive and repair maintenance and other scheduled services on Biomedical and related equipment.  Perform repairs and other technical activities with minimum supervision.  Requires good oral and written communication and customer service skills.  Maintains equipment inventory records and parts. 

Qualifications:
  • The BioMed Technician (BMET) 2 can teach basic skills to BMET level one technicians and can mentor others in basic skills.
  • BioMed Technician candidates must have a comprehensive understanding of common clinical terminology as well as that of life sciences such as anatomy and physiology.  The BMET 2 demonstrates the ability to solve service line customer service problems
  • Must have experience with electric and electronic theory including discrete components, integrated circuits, and microprocessors: test equipment such as digital multimeter and other special instrumentation designed for testing medical equipment.
  • Must have a comprehensive understanding and can communicate the use of devices supported.
  • Must have a working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, and network medical systems.
  • Must have the ability to participate in department related projects.
  • Must have the ability to mentor BioMed Technician 1 technicians
  • Must be able to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Must have basic understanding of project management terms and methods.
  • Must be willing to:
    • Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)
    • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)
  •     Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English (written & verbal)
  •     Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the USA for any employer
  •     Corp to corp candidates will not be considered

The base range for this contract position is $25 - $45 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
