Job Description

Codeworks, an LRS company, is seeking a Cloud/Platform Engineer for a Contract opportunity. This role offers the chance to apply your cloud engineering and automation expertise in support of meaningful, high‑impact work for one of our client partners.

The Contract Cloud/Platform Engineer will support the design, automation, and implementation of Azure cloud and infrastructure solutions. The role involves working with Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) tools—primarily Terraform—and collaborating with IT Operations and Development teams to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud environments. While Azure expertise is preferred, experience with Terraform and familiarity with AWS or GCP is also valuable.

Responsibilities

Design & Implement Cloud Infrastructure

  • Create and manage Azure resources using Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Implement automation for monitoring, scaling, deployment, and resource management.
  • Design and deploy Azure cloud modules based on business and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps or related tools.

Collaboration & Support

  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to translate requirements into automated cloud solutions.
  • Share knowledge with team members on cloud platforms, automation approaches, and best practices.
  • Provide training or technical support to internal teams and clients as needed.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge of Azure services and cloud architecture concepts.
  • Experience with scripting and automation, particularly PowerShell.
  • Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code frameworks (e.g., Terraform, Azure Bicep, Ansible).
  • Experience with code promotion and release processes.
  • Understanding of cloud security practices and supporting tools.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
  • 3+ years designing, implementing, or managing Azure cloud infrastructure.
  • 2+ years working with IaC tools, especially Terraform.
  • Familiarity with:
    • Software development platforms (Azure DevOps, GitHub)
    • IaC concepts (Terraform, ARM templates, etc.)
The base range for this contract position is $55.00 - $85.00 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
