Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Migration Planning and Execution:
- Assess existing systems and create detailed migration plans to transition to the target Windows operating system (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11, or server environments). Develop timelines and strategies to ensure seamless migration with minimal disruption to end-users and business operations. System Assessment and Compatibility:
- Conduct hardware and software compatibility checks to ensure smooth migration. Identify and mitigate risks associated with application and hardware compatibility issues. Deployment and Configuration:
- Install and configure Windows operating systems on desktops, laptops, and servers. Customize system settings to align with organizational policies and end-user needs. Data Backup and Recovery:
- Perform pre-migration data backups and ensure data integrity during migration. Develop and implement recovery plans in case of unexpected failures or data loss. User Support and Training:
- Provide end-user support during and after migration, addressing technical issues and questions. Offer training and documentation to help users navigate new systems and features. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during migration projects. Collaborate with IT teams to develop and apply fixes for system errors or malfunctions. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed documentation of migration processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps. Provide regular progress updates and post-migration reports to stakeholders. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in Windows OS migration projects. Hands-on experience with Windows deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, MDT, or Intune).
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and Active Directory.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell or similar tools.
- Knowledge of networking principles and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with teams and end-users.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
The base range for this contract position is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
