Job Description
The Information Technology Infrastructure Director is responsible for shaping and overseeing the strategy, design, delivery, and ongoing operation of the organization’s technology infrastructure and information security capabilities. This role ensures the availability, security, scalability, and cost-effective management of platforms across data centers, cloud services, networks, endpoints, identity, communications, and core IT operations.
The role supports business continuity, safeguards information assets, and enables organizational growth. In addition, the position oversees infrastructure integration activities related to mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, with a focus on readiness at transition milestones and timely post‑integration alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain infrastructure and security strategies, roadmaps, reference architectures, and standards across networking, cloud, compute, storage, identity, endpoints, collaboration, and core IT operations.
- Establish accountability for service availability, performance, capacity planning, and lifecycle management for infrastructure platforms; define and monitor key operational metrics.
- Guide infrastructure operations, including IT service management, service desk functions, monitoring, patching, backup, and incident and problem management to support service reliability and timely recovery.
- Oversee network services such as LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi, internet connectivity, segmentation, and secure remote access solutions.
- Manage cloud and data center environments, including virtualization, storage, and compute resources, support migration and modernization initiatives.
- Lead identity and endpoint services (directory services, IAM, MFA, device management, and software distribution) to enhance security and usability.
- Strengthen information security capabilities in collaboration with stakeholders, including vulnerability management, security monitoring and logging, configuration standards, and third‑party risk processes.
- Coordinate response activities for infrastructure and security incidents, including escalation, containment, investigation support, communications, and post‑incident improvement actions.
- Establish and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity programs; conduct regular testing and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support infrastructure and security integration for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including IT due diligence, readiness planning, connectivity alignment, tooling standardization, and post‑integration or separation efforts.
- Oversee vendor selection, contract review, and performance management to ensure clearly defined responsibilities, cost management, and measurable outcomes.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, licensing, and cost optimization through standardization, rationalization, and automation.
- Build, support, and develop a high‑performing team through inclusive hiring practices, coaching, training, and performance development.
