Job Summary

The Senior IT Project Manager (Security Focus) is responsible for leading and delivering complex, enterprise‑level security initiatives across the organization. This role partners closely with Information Security, Infrastructure, Architecture, Compliance, and business stakeholders to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational risk and compliance objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Security Project Delivery

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of enterprise security initiatives, including IAM, cloud security, data protection, network security, vulnerability management, and compliance programs
  • Manage multiple security programs concurrently while aligning with business and security roadmaps
  • Translate security requirements into actionable project plans and milestones

Program & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with Information Security, IT, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and business teams
  • Facilitate governance sessions, steering committee updates, and executive‑level reporting
  • Manage vendor relationships and third‑party security engagements

Project Planning & Execution

  • Develop detailed project plans encompassing scope, schedule, budget, resources, risks, and dependencies
  • Track deliverables, manage change control, and proactively mitigate risks and issues
  • Ensure security controls and deliverables meet enterprise and regulatory standards

Risk, Compliance & Governance

  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory remediation initiatives
  • Maintain project documentation, controls, and evidence for audit readiness

Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource planning
  • Coordinate internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely execution
  • Optimize delivery through effective prioritization and dependency management

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of IT Project Management experience with a strong focus on information security and cybersecurity
  • Proven experience delivering large‑scale, cross‑functional security initiatives in enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated success managing complex technical programs involving multiple stakeholders

Required Skills & Competencies

Project Management

  • Expert knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid methodologies
  • Strong experience with project governance, risk management, and reporting
  • Ability to execute effectively in fast‑paced, highly regulated environments

Security Knowledge (Critical)

  • Strong understanding of security principles and technologies, including:
    • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
    • Cloud security
    • Network and infrastructure security
    • Data protection and encryption
    • Vulnerability and risk management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with security architects and engineers

Technical & Business Collaboration

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including executive‑level reporting
  • Ability to translate complex technical security concepts into business terms
  • Proven leadership influencing teams without direct authority

Tools & Technologies

  • Project management tools: Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet, Azure DevOps
  • Collaboration and documentation tools: Confluence, SharePoint
  • Familiarity with enterprise IT environments, cloud providers, and security platforms

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, CISM, CISSP, or similar certifications
  • Experience in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, or government)
  • Experience managing third‑party security vendors and assessments

Additional Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States for any employer

The base range for this position is $30 - $60 per hour, depending on experience.  Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Colorado Pay Range:
30.00 - 60.00/per Hour
