Job Description

LRS Consulting Services is seeking skilled Solution Engineer for an exciting contract to hire opportunity with a client of ours in Springfield, IL. 

This Solution Engineer will work within the Property & Casualty (P&C) domain; this role supports the modernization of the enterprise data ecosystem, including the transition from DHIC (DataHub/InfoCenter) to a CDA (Cloud Data Access) architecture that enables direct access to Guidewire base tables.

The position contributes to building consolidated data assets that integrate Guidewire platforms with legacy P&C mainframe systems. The role also supports the phased transition from DHIC-based reporting structures to a CDA-driven data access framework.

Key focus areas include:

  • Guidewire platforms: PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter
  • Guidewire data models and architecture
  • Experience with Guidewire DHIC and CDA frameworks (required)

  • This position operates with a high degree of autonomy and requires the ability to independently advance projects based on experience, best practices, and industry standards.
  • Core expectations include:
  • Anticipating IT industry trends and aligning them with evolving enterprise data architecture and Guidewire capabilities
  • Developing, specifying, and communicating domain-specific technology architecture
  • Contributing to and enforcing enterprise standards and environments
  • Providing leadership and occasional project management for initiatives within area of expertise
  • Supporting multiple concurrent projects spanning Guidewire data integration, P&C reporting, and legacy system consolidation
  • Delivering solutions across the full lifecycle for a defined business domain
  • This role functions as a seasoned subject matter expert (SME) capable of leading initiatives or contributing technical expertise across projects.

Experience

  • 4–6 years of IT experience across multiple technical areas
  • 1–2 years of project management experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Relevant industry certifications are a plus

Technology Competencies

  • Required experience with Guidewire CDA and DHIC frameworks
  • Strong expertise in Guidewire platforms and underlying data models
  • Advanced SQL and experience working with large insurance datasets
  • Strong understanding of data architecture, database design, and query optimization

Preferred:

  • Snowflake or cloud-based data warehousing platforms
  • dbt (data build tool) for data transformation, testing, and documentation

Additional Technical Strengths:

  • Understanding of dependencies between software development and infrastructure
  • Experience with SDLC and project lifecycle methodologies
  • Proficiency with code repositories and development tools
  • Knowledge of client-side and server-side scripting
  • Strong design and documentation skills (e.g., data pipelines, database design, architecture diagrams)

Work Environment

  • Collaborative, team-oriented IT environment
  • May require occasional after-hours support

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States for any employer

Compensation

The base range for this contract position is $50-80 per hour, depending on experience. Pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range listed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires across U.S. locations. Individual pay within this range is based on work location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Colorado Pay Range:
50.00 - 80.00/per Hour
