Job Description

LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Business Analyst with strong SQL, Power BI, and Python automation skills for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Dallas, TX. This role translates business requirements into scalable data solutions, builds and maintains reporting dashboards, and automates manual processes to improve accuracy and efficiency. The analyst will serve as a liaison between business leadership and technical teams, turning operational needs into actionable data models, ETL logic, and reporting outputs.

What You Will Do

  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data models, ETL processes, and reporting solutions
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to provide leadership with real-time operational visibility into KPIs
  • Write, optimize, and maintain SQL Server queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views to support analytics and business logic
  • Develop Python-based automation workflows to reduce manual effort and improve data processing efficiency
  • Design and support ETL pipelines to extract, clean, and transform data for analytics and BI workflows
  • Manage Power BI workspace permissions, data refreshes, and automated scheduling via Power Automate
  • Create ad hoc reports and analyses to support business decision-making
  • Partner with stakeholders across operations, finance, and executive leadership to understand reporting needs and deliver solutions
  • Present data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar role
  • Strong SQL skills including writing and optimizing queries, stored procedures, views, and joins (SQL Server preferred)
  • Experience designing and developing Power BI dashboards and reports preferred
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical data solutions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Lead and facilitate Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Python scripting experience for data automation and ETL (Pandas, SQLAlchemy, openpyxl)
  • Experience with Power Automate for scheduling and workflow automation
  • Familiarity with Cognos or other enterprise reporting tools
  • Experience with DAX expressions and Power BI data modeling
  • Experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain environments

The base range for this contract position is $35.00 - $45.00 per hour. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
