Job Description

LRS is seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead the design, implementation, governance, and adoption of enterprise Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions that support business objectives and digital transformation initiatives. This individual will play a key role in defining AI strategy, architecting scalable AI platforms, integrating AI capabilities into enterprise applications, and ensuring the secure and responsible use of emerging AI technologies across the organization.

The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in AI architecture, machine learning, generative AI, cloud technologies, data platforms, and enterprise system integration. This role will collaborate closely with executive leadership, business stakeholders, data engineering teams, application development teams, security teams, and IT leadership to design and deliver scalable AI solutions that drive innovation, operational efficiency, and business value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the enterprise AI architecture strategy, roadmap, standards, and best practices.
  • Design scalable AI, machine learning, and generative AI solutions that align with business goals and technology strategies.
  • Architect and oversee the implementation of AI platforms, data pipelines, model deployment frameworks, and AI-driven business applications.
  • Evaluate and recommend AI technologies, frameworks, platforms, and cloud services.
  • Develop enterprise AI governance frameworks, ensuring responsible, ethical, and secure use of AI solutions.
  • Design and support integrations between AI platforms, enterprise applications, data warehouses, APIs, and business systems.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation, analytics, and process optimization.
  • Establish standards for AI model lifecycle management, monitoring, security, and performance optimization.
  • Lead architecture reviews and provide technical guidance to development, engineering, and data science teams.
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with enterprise security, privacy, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop proof-of-concepts, reference architectures, and technical roadmaps for AI initiatives.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Create and maintain architecture documentation, technical standards, governance frameworks, and implementation guidelines.
  • Support enterprise digital transformation initiatives involving AI, machine learning, automation, and advanced analytics.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, data architecture, or enterprise architecture roles.
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions.
  • Strong experience developing enterprise architecture strategies and technology roadmaps.
  • Experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agent frameworks.
  • Experience designing AI-enabled applications and enterprise integrations.
  • Strong understanding of machine learning model development, deployment, monitoring, and governance.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with data architecture, data engineering, data governance, and enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of API-based architectures, microservices, and integration patterns.
  • Understanding of AI security, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience leading AI initiatives within the financial services, banking, insurance, or wealth management industries.
  • Experience implementing AI solutions for underwriting, claims processing, fraud detection, risk analysis, customer service, or policy administration.
  • Experience architecting enterprise AI solutions using Microsoft Azure AI Services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot technologies, AWS AI, or Google AI platforms.
  • Experience developing AI-powered chatbots, virtual assistants, knowledge management platforms, and intelligent automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of insurance operations, regulatory requirements, and financial services business processes.
  • Experience implementing MLOps, AI governance, and model risk management frameworks.
  • Familiarity with compliance requirements such as SOX, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, NAIC, state insurance regulations, and data privacy standards.
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale digital transformation and modernization initiatives.
  • Industry certifications related to cloud architecture, AI, machine learning, or enterprise architecture.

The pay range for this contract position is $85.00 to $120.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills, education, and location. Compensation decisions are based on several factors, including relevant experience, technical expertise, certifications, and market considerations.

Additional Requirements

  • Candidate must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Candidate must have permanent authorization to work in the United States for any employer. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Colorado Pay Range:
85.00 - 120.00/per Hour
