Remote (100%) | Contract (Through June 2027)

Position Summary

LRS Consulting Services is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the implementation and completion of a complex retirement administration system initiative. This is a long-term consulting engagement currently scheduled through June 2027.

The Project Manager will join an established, in-flight enterprise software implementation and work closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, PMO resources, internal project team members, and the software implementation team. This role requires a hands-on Project Manager who can quickly understand the current state of the project, identify outstanding work, risks, and dependencies, and drive execution through the remaining implementation phases. The ideal candidate is comfortable stepping into a complex project already underway and working within an established PMO and governance structure.

What You Will Do

  • Manage assigned project activities through implementation, go-live, stabilization, and project close-out
  • Quickly assess existing project plans, schedules, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, and outstanding work
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, action items, RAID logs, and status reporting
  • Partner with existing project management and PMO resources to coordinate activities, clarify ownership, and avoid duplication of effort
  • Coordinate activities across business, IT, technical, and software implementation teams
  • Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and action items, and drive follow-through on commitments
  • Identify, track, escalate, and facilitate resolution of project risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Provide clear and timely project status reporting to business and technology leadership
  • Coordinate with Business Analysts and business stakeholders on requirements, testing, documentation, operational readiness, and transition activities
  • Support test planning and execution, implementation readiness, go-live planning, stabilization, and transition to ongoing operations
  • Work within established PMO methodologies, governance processes, reporting standards, and project controls
  • Identify potential gaps or risks early and provide practical recommendations to keep the implementation moving forward

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of professional Project Management experience
  • 5+ years of experience managing enterprise software implementation projects
  • Experience managing at least one full lifecycle enterprise software implementation, including requirements, testing, deployment/go-live, stabilization, and project close-out
  • Experience joining and managing an in-flight software implementation, including assessing existing project plans, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies, and project status
  • Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholder groups, including business users, IT teams, technical resources, and software vendors or implementation partners
  • Experience working within an established PMO or formal project governance structure
  • Experience developing and maintaining project schedules, RAID logs, status reports, action items, and executive-level project communications
  • Experience supporting testing, implementation readiness, go-live planning, and transition to operations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with business, technical, and leadership stakeholders
  • Must reside in the United States
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing an implementation involving retirement, pension, or benefits administration systems
  • Public sector software implementation experience
  • PMP certification
  • Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies (Azure DevOps, PI planning, sprint-based delivery)
  • Experience with cloud-based platform implementations (Azure, Dynamics 365, or similar)
  • Experience supporting organizational change management and operational readiness
