LRS Consulting Services is seeking a Senior MuleSoft API Engineer who enjoys building scalable integration solutions, enabling seamless connectivity across enterprise platforms, and solving complex technology challenges through modern API architectures. This fully remote direct-hire opportunity offers the chance to support mission-critical integration initiatives while partnering with architects, engineers, cybersecurity teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and maintainable digital services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, configure, integrate, test, document, and support MuleSoft solutions using Anypoint Platform, API Manager, Runtime Manager, CloudHub, Mule 4, DataWeave, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, connectors, policies, and CI/CD automation.
• Develop API-led connectivity solutions, reusable integration services, and DataWeave transformations supporting enterprise interoperability.
• Build and support secure integrations between enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and external systems.
• Translate business, mission, security, accessibility, and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in architecture reviews, backlog refinement, implementation planning, release readiness, and production deployment activities.
• Develop reusable integration frameworks, standards, automation processes, and support procedures that improve reliability and reduce technical debt.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving APIs, integrations, data transformations, platform configuration, security, performance, and system interoperability.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, privacy, infrastructure, QA, data, operations, and business teams to support successful solution delivery.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, operational runbooks, testing evidence, and implementation guides.
• Support ongoing platform modernization, integration governance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Analytics, or a related field preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, application development, integration engineering, or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on experience implementing, configuring, developing, integrating, testing, and supporting MuleSoft solutions.
• Deep knowledge of Anypoint Platform, API Manager, Runtime Manager, CloudHub, Mule 4, DataWeave, and API-led connectivity patterns.
• Experience designing and implementing secure, scalable, and maintainable integration architectures.
• Expertise with REST and SOAP APIs, enterprise integrations, data transformation, and service orchestration.
• Experience working with Agile delivery teams and translating business requirements into maintainable technical solutions.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, identity management, API security, monitoring, and performance optimization.
• Experience developing reusable integration assets, governance standards, and operational support procedures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to document technical designs, implementation decisions, test results, operational procedures, and risks in both technical and non-technical language.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, business, QA, cybersecurity, and operations teams.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

• MuleSoft Certified Developer.
• MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect.
• MuleSoft Certified Platform Architect.
• Experience supporting federal government, Public Trust, or highly regulated environments.
• Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility standards, cybersecurity requirements, auditability, data protection, and operational governance.
• Experience with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Infrastructure as Code, and release automation.
• Knowledge of federal security and compliance frameworks including NIST, FISMA, FedRAMP, audit controls, and least-privilege access principles.
• Experience improving integration governance, platform standards, operational readiness, observability, and documentation practices.
• Familiarity with Salesforce, ServiceNow, Microsoft 365, Atlassian products, Snowflake, CRM platforms, and enterprise integration ecosystems.

The base salary range for this direct-hire position is $140,000- $180,000 annually, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
